isn't an energy source. it's an energy amplifier... granted you need 1.21 jigga-watts to make it all start up. That's the only way to make time travel possible... gettin the flux capacitor to generate enough electricity to generate enough of a magnetic field thereby bending the time-space continuum and traveling through time... the 88mph is just a dramatic figure thrown in by hollywood... once the portal is opened by the flux capacitor, you can walk through it kinda like in Stargate.
